This took the full 10 minutes to do the sketch, struggled getting the twist of the angle. It wasn't this angry looking in the reference photo, it just kept coming out that way.

Day 27 UK Robin
Taking a class with Val Webb at http://valwebb.wordpress.com/ In her first lesson on drawing birds she suggested setting a timer for 8 to 10 minutes and sketch as much as you can of a bird from the references she provided. It took 8 minutes to do this little fellow.

A Sketch a Day - Day 22

Day 8 Mug
A quick 15 minute sketch. I'm trying to just sketch and not add too much detail. But I keep failing and shading and fiddling with them. I think I kept adding to this one because I struggle so much with drawing mugs and ellipses.

A Sketch a Day - Day 1
Starting a new challenge for myself! I have read many books and set even more goals. One thing I have noticed over and over in everything I have read and classes I have attended - Practice! Seems simple, right? Then why don't I do it? I get distracted or I just plain forget. I thought what might help is setting up a blog to track my progress and give me a feeling that I need to post something, anything, everyday.
